EDC Chairman's Award

The Chairman's Award of the Economic Development Corporation of Weslaco (EDC) was presented to Ciro Aldape. The award, established by the EDC, is given in recognition of significant investment and contribution to the local economy. Mr. Aldape recently opened a new Ciro's restaurant at 1506 West Pike Street in Weslaco. Ciro's was first established in the eraly1980's. Since then the local establishment, which specializes in seafood, has drawn customers from all over the Rio Grande Valley. The original Ciro's established in Weslaco, was followed by restaurants in Alamo and Edinburg. The EDC's Chairman's Award is a way to recognize investor confidence in Weslaco. It will be given from time to time in recognition of current significant investment and contribution to the economy. It also is a way of saying "thank you" to individuals and businesses choosing to do business in Weslaco.
